Vision

Proverbs 29:18 (The Message)

If people can’t see what God is doing,

they stumble all over themselves;

But when they attend to what he reveals,

they are most blessed.

As a teacher, I have recently been in meetings with colleagues talking about the new school year. With the new school year comes new schedules, responsibilities, colleagues, and new students. Included in the meetings, our staff has talked about what the vision of our school is. Are we all on the same page? Do we know where we are heading? Do we share common goals? Do we all know what the vision of our school is?

There is an old story of two shoe salesmen who went to a primitive island to determine their business potential. The first salesman wired back home “Coming back immediately. No one wears shoes”. The second salesman wired back home “Send a boatload of shoes. The potential of selling shoes here is endless”.

Friends, here is our vision: Visalia Christian Reformed Church exists to glorify God and make disciples by grafting each person into gospel shaped community.

Vision is key. What is God calling you to see and be a part of in this new season ahead? Ask God to give you a clear vision as to what you can do for him. God uses his word, people, and circumstances to guide our ways. Be on the lookout for what he is calling you to do, and be a part of.

What an exciting time to look ahead! I look forward to serving alongside you.

Father God, give us your vision. Give us your heart for those around us. We exist to glorify you, and bring others to you. Thank you Lord, for including us in your story. Amen.
